Under the Lands of Orkath
Nairobi has had the worst year of her life. First her mom dies from a global pandemic, then she gets fired from her job for no reason, then the world ends.
Someone somewhere has it out for her, she’s sure.
After the governments of Earth defaulted on their loans to aliens (yeah, those exist), it’s up to the citizens of Earth to work to pay them off. Millions of people are zipped off to planets unknown to do what humans do best: adapt, live, and fight.
Nai is with her sisters, Ness and Nadia, when the apocalypse comes, but the three of them are separated once they’re relocated to their new posts on the planet Orkath. A mining planet where Debtors go Underground to kill monsters to sell their parts and keep them from coming to the surface. In return, they’ll be housed and paid—of course, much of that is going toward the debt shoved on them from their useless former government officials.
Nai couldn’t care less about taking care of the debts. The only thing she cares about is getting back to her sisters. Unfortunately the only way to do that is to do her job. If she has any hope of getting back to them, she needs to get stronger first and delve under the lands of Orkath to fight what lurks beneath.
